In our laboratory, we have recently expanded our portfolio of molecular diagnostic methods to include testing for elephant endotheliotropic herpesvirus (EEHV).
In addition to the existing EEHV1 test, we now also offer detection of other types: EEHV2, EEHV3, EEHV4 and EEHV6. The expansion of the diagnostic panel enables more accurate identification of individual virus types and contributes to more effective monitoring of the infection and early detection of the disease, which poses a serious health risk, particularly to young elephants.
