Parasitological testing is essential for preventing losses in sheep and goat farming. Our laboratory offers coprological testing, which is essential for maintaining a healthy herd. Additionally, this testing is a prerequisite for receiving subsidies from the Ministry of Agriculture under the 'Improving Living Conditions in Sheep and Goat Farming' programme 20.G.
The results show that parasites are present in over 99% of samples, frequently in high numbers. The most frequently detected parasites are protozoa (e.g. Eimeria, Giardia and Cryptosporidium) and helminths (e.g. GIN, Moniezia and Muellerius capillaris).
For diagnosing ruminants, we routinely use a combination of three methods: flotation, larvoscopy and sedimentation. Regular testing enables targeted treatment and effective monitoring of herd health.
