A viral disease affecting mainly canids, weasels and bears. It is a highly contagious disease characterised by high fever and involvement of the respiratory, nervous, digestive and skin systems. It is caused by a Morbillivirus of the Paramyxoviridae family. The disease is most commonly transmitted by droplets or direct contact with an infected animal. The animal can continue to spread the virus through urine for several months after recovery.
