Theileria equi (Piroplasmosis)

A parasitic disease transmitted by ticks. It is often asymptomatic, with acute infection resulting in fever, anorexia, dehydration, sweating, oedema, anaemia and sometimes jaundice. Chronic infection causes weight loss and inappetence.
