Avian adenovirus 1

Avian adenovirus 1 (AAV-1) is a viral disease that primarily affects poultry, especially chickens and turkeys. This virus belongs to the Adenoviridae family and is known to cause various health problems in infected birds. The main symptoms of AAV-1 infection include respiratory problems such as coughing, sneezing and difficulty breathing. In addition, the virus can cause diarrhoea, reduced food and water intake, resulting in stunted growth and reduced egg production in laying hens. In young birds, infection can lead to increased mortality. In some cases, neurological symptoms such as tremors or incoordination may also occur. AAV-1 is mainly spread by direct contact between birds or through contaminated environments, feed or water.
